To partially satisfy your own curiosities,
try to take a look to this singular dictionary that, not simply just for fun, we made up matching
each item here listed with its exact amount used during the representation (all the data
here presented are refered to 2001 edition except if otherwise specified).

A
ANIMALS: just a little less than one hundred various species of animals
used in the scenes (ovine, bovine, goatlike, equine, etc.).
ARTISANS: a variable number of 'em is present throughout the
representation; they represents ever a lustre for our town, because they are the last
glorious workers in some arts and crafts on the way out to extinction...
B
BABY JESUS: because of the humidity and
the sharp coldness of the places, 3 or 4 babies just born in town makes a
"performance" rotation of about 1 hour each.
BISCUITS: more than 50 chilos of various
cookies and artisanal biscuits (such like sweet or spiced "taralli" and "guanti"
or honey "struffoli").
BREAD:
over a quintal of bread distributed to the visitors inside the various taverns.

CANDLE TORCHES: to
enlight the scenes we use over 500 various size candle torches.
COSTUMES: hundreds of costumes, perfect remakes of the true old time
clothes, rent from theatrical tailor's shops or handly made from our town local tailors.

DISHES: over 5.000 plastic dishes
have been used to distribute the towns' typical foods.
E
EGGS: about 200 eggs totally employed for the bakes and biscuits paste
cooking.
ELECTRIC CABLES: almost 570 mt. of cables used to
enlight the scenes.
ELECTRICIANS:
10 electricians employed for about one whole week in making up the scenes lights.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE:
over 30
volunteers, connected and supervised by radio transceivers, to assist and
protect the visitors (especially the old ones) in the thoughest walks of the
tour.

FOREIGN VISITORS: numerous are the visitors comin' from the foreign countries
(first of all our town's immigrants from Switzerland and Germany), but even more are
those in the world who lives the magic atmospheres of the "Presepe Vivente di Baia e Latina" thanks to the images of the video-report expressely made for them (even if in a
non professional
way).

GARBAGE: at the end of the representation
are usually sweeped away about 2 trucks of animal litter and almost 25 bags (50
litres each) of
various garbage.
GUIDE BOOKS: about
3000 tour guide-books distributed at the entrance of the
Presepe.
H
HAY: almost 20 hay bale used to the reconstruction of
some rural scenes and/or for the animals stables (data
refered to the
edition 1998).
HORSES:
ten wonderful horses, comin' and rided (..absolutely wearing costumes..) from the skilfull
knights of the town local
ranch "IL BAGLIO" (data
refered to the edition 1998).
HOSTESS: 4 young 'hostess'
(2 wearing typical local costume of the town) charged to distribute the tour guide-books
to all the visitors.

INCENSE: 200 various scent essence sticks and about 2 kg. of incense have
been burned to recreate and let the visitors "feel" some oriental scenes...

JOLLY: 15
characters
at our disposable as 'jolly' or reserves (to use as missing characters in case
of need).

KILOMETRES: before the end of the exhibition the organization members woulda
have covered (totally) almost 2500 km. by their own cars.

LIGHTING: almost total switching off of the artificial lighting on the tour
way, and massive use of natural torches lighting.
LIGHTS: over 150 various power coloured lights, employed to artistically
improve some scenes.

MONEY:
the total expenses amount needed for the representation are
fixed usually about 10 millions liras/5000 Euro (5.000 U.S. dollars) and they come
entirely by donations of the local citizenship, Societies, Municipality and dealers, but
also from free contribution of the visitors.

NATIVITY (HOLY NATIVITY): it always represents
the "clou" scene of the whole representation and, usually it is placed exactly
at the half of the tour.

ORGANISATION AND STAFF MEMBERS: actually the
whole staff is made up of 4 responsibles and a variable number of
collaborators and technicians...

PAINTINGS: two canvas paintings have been finished in the same night from
local artist Gaetano "Gigino" De Marco (nicknamed "Vaccitù").
PASTA E FAGIOLI ("PASTA WITH BEANS"):
over 4500 portions of "pasta with beans" has been cooked at the moment
and distributed to the visitors (70 kg. of pasta and 25 kg. of beans).
PASTORI CHARACTERS: over 350
persons to characterize all the figures needed
(data refered to the edition 1998).
PIG: one of the most appreciated scenes of the Presepe is the one
concerning the artisanal making of the sausage; that's why, the meat of a whole pig about
one quintal weight (!!) has been butched and handly worked at the moment under the
watchful and interested eyes of the visitors...
PIZZELLE (LITTLE PIZZAS): about 4500 pieces of typical
tomato and cheese "mini-pizzas" have been cooked and distributed.
PLASTIC GLASSES:
almost 12.000 various size plastic glasses have been used to distribute
beverages in the single stands.
POLENTA: over 2000 portion of typical hot "polenta" have been
distributed to the visitors.
POLICE FORCES: always present,
behind the Municipal Police, are Carabinieri, Police Patrols and a medical assistance
point.

RADIO-TRANSCEIVERS: over 30 transceivers
located along the tour ride and connected one each other by Protezione Civile's
mobile radio-bridge
(data refered to the edition
1998).

SAUSAGES: about
60 kg. of roasted sausages offered to the visitors inside
the various taverns.
SCOUTS: 20 volounteers of the local "Matese Scout Group"
employed in various assistance works (data
refered to the edition 1998).
SECURITY: 18 internal collaborators to co-ordinate the admittance,
the exiting and the internal security of the Presepe
(data refered to the
edition 1998).

TECHNICIANS: over 30 persons (technicians, electricians, carpenters, artisans
and workmans) employed to make ready and properly enlight the scenes.
TELEVISIONS: RAI2 and RAI3 came by at edition
1998 of the representation; RAI1 invited in studio some of the characters to
represent the latest edition of the manifestation;
a variable number of commercial TVs present in each edition.
TORCHES: over
350 windproof torches
placed along the tour way.
TOUR: about one kilometre of tour length.

VISITORS: over
7000 visitors came by during the last edition.

WAITING TIME: the lowest waiting lane time to enter in the Presepe Vivente have
been about 15/30 minutes; the top waiting time has been about 60/100 minutes.
WATER: over 250 litres of water distributed along the tour way.
WINE: almost 400 litres of wine distributed to the visitors inside the
"taverns".
Z
ZEPPOLE: more than 10 kg. of pasta cooked "live" at the moment
from a 7 experts pastry-cooks team and offered to the visitors as "zeppole"
cookies
(data refered to the edition 1998).
